Durga Saptashati
The Shri Durga Saptashati (Devi Mahatmyam), part of the Markandeya Purana, narrates in 700 verses across three charitras and thirteen chapters the Goddess Durga's slaying of the demons Mahishasura, Shumbha and Nishumbha. Its recitation is held especially auspicious during Navratri.
