गोपनीयता नीति
This policy covers the VedPath app for Android and iOS, and on vedpath.org the Mandali feature, where a signed-in user can assemble an ordered list of chants and share it via a link or QR code.
The VedPath app
The app has no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics. Your favourites, jap counts, reading positions, alarms, birth details and chosen city are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. Uninstalling the app removes them.
The panchang and the kundali are calculated on the device. The app never reads your location: you pick a city, and it defaults to Mumbai.
The app contacts VedPath's own servers only, and only for these reasons:
- Downloading texts — a cursor and content fingerprints, never what you have read.
- Searching online — the words you search for. Offline search stays on the device.
- Finding a city — the place name you type, which our server looks up in an open place-name database (Open-Meteo/GeoNames) without identifying you.
- Live darshan — whether a temple's stream is live; nothing about you. Streams open in YouTube, under YouTube's own policy.
- Opening a shared Mandali — the link's share token.
- Contact and error-report forms — what you type, including your name and email if you give them, only when you send the form. We use it to reply and to correct the text.
The app asks for notifications (for the alarms you set) and, on Android, for permission to show the floating jap counter over other apps — only when you turn that counter on.
What we collect
You only sign in if you want to create a mandali. Signing in uses Google, and we receive your Google account's name, email address, and profile picture. People who merely open a shared mandali link are not asked to sign in and are not individually tracked.
How we use it
We use this information solely to identify you as the owner of your mandalis, to let you manage them, and to display “Created by [your name]” on the mandalis you publish. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
What is public
A mandali's name, location, chant list, and your display name are visible to anyone who has the mandali's share link. Your email address is never shown publicly. Mandali pages are unlisted and marked no-index, so they are not added to search engines by us.
Panchang and location
The Panchang page calculates tithi, nakshatra and daily timings for a place you choose. It never asks for your location on page load — the browser prompt appears only if you press “Use my location”, and declining it does not block the page: a default location is shown, clearly labelled as a default, and you can pick any city instead.
All Panchang calculation runs in your browser. Your coordinates are never sent anywhere to be turned into a Panchang — there is no calculation API for them to travel in. Your chosen location is saved only in your own browser's local storage so the page remembers it next time, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Searching for a place does make one request, to vedpath.org/api/geocode, which
passes the text you typed to an open place-name database (Open-Meteo/GeoNames) and returns
matches. Pressing “Use my location” sends coordinates rounded to about a
kilometre to the same endpoint to look up a town name. VedPath does not log either
request, and the outside database is never told who asked — it sees our server, not you or
your browser. Nothing about a place search is tied to your account.
Storage
Your account details and mandalis are stored in Cloudflare's database (D1). Your login is kept in a signed, HTTP-only cookie on your device; we do not store server-side session records. Your Panchang location preference is stored only in your browser, never on our servers.
Deleting your data
From the My Mandalis page you can delete any individual mandali, or choose “Delete my account & data” to permanently remove your account and all of your mandalis.

कौन-सी ज्योतिषीय जानकारी ली जाती है
यदि आप ज्योतिषीय प्रोफ़ाइल बनाते हैं, तो Ved Path वही विवरण रखता है जो आप भरते हैं: वैकल्पिक नाम, जन्मतिथि, जन्म समय (यदि आप बताते हैं कि वह ज्ञात नहीं है तो नहीं), और जन्मस्थान। जन्मस्थान चुनने पर उस स्थान का अक्षांश, देशांतर और समय-क्षेत्र भी सुरक्षित होता है — गणना वास्तव में इन्हीं का उपयोग करती है। यदि आप स्थान-आधारित सुविधा चुनते हैं तो आपकी वर्तमान लोकेशन भी सुरक्षित हो सकती है। जब तक आप फ़ॉर्म नहीं भरते, कुछ भी संग्रहित नहीं होता।
इसका उपयोग क्यों होता है
इन विवरणों का उपयोग केवल आपकी जन्म कुंडली और आपके द्वारा खोले गए वैयक्तिक विवेचन की गणना के लिए होता है — आपकी राशि, नक्षत्र, लग्न, ग्रह-स्थिति, विंशोत्तरी दशा और वर्तमान गोचर — तथा Ved Path पर पहले से प्रकाशित भक्ति-ग्रंथ सुझाने के लिए। इनका उपयोग विज्ञापन के लिए नहीं होता, इन्हें बेचा नहीं जाता, और आपकी किसी अन्य जानकारी से नहीं जोड़ा जाता।
बाहरी गणना सेवा को क्या भेजा जा सकता है
आप Ved Path के जिस संस्करण का उपयोग कर रहे हैं, उसमें आपकी सारी ज्योतिषीय गणना आपके अपने ब्राउज़र में ही होती है, साइट के साथ आई गणना-लाइब्रेरी से। कोई जन्म विवरण Ved Path के सर्वर या किसी तीसरे पक्ष को नहीं भेजा जाता, क्योंकि कोई अनुरोध किया ही नहीं जाता। यदि Ved Path कभी किसी बाहरी गणना सेवा पर जाता है, तो केवल गणना के लिए आवश्यक न्यूनतम — जन्मतिथि, जन्म समय, अक्षांश, देशांतर और समय-क्षेत्र — भेजा जाएगा, और वह परिवर्तन लागू होने से पहले यह पृष्ठ अद्यतन किया जाएगा।
क्या कभी नहीं भेजा जाता
आपका नाम किसी गणना सेवा को कभी नहीं भेजा जाता; किसी भी ज्योतिषीय गणना के लिए उसकी आवश्यकता नहीं है, और गणना-अनुरोध बनाने वाले कोड में उसे ले जाने योग्य कोई क्षेत्र ही नहीं है। आपका ईमेल पता, Google खाता विवरण, पसंदीदा, मंडली और ब्राउज़िंग इतिहास भी कभी नहीं भेजे जाते।
यह कहाँ संग्रहित होती है
आपकी ज्योतिषीय प्रोफ़ाइल और उससे बने विवेचन केवल आपके ब्राउज़र के स्थानीय संग्रहण में, उसी डिवाइस पर रहते हैं जहाँ आपने उन्हें दर्ज किया। ये Ved Path के डेटाबेस में संग्रहित नहीं होते, आपके अन्य डिवाइस से समन्वयित नहीं होते, और हमारे किसी बैकअप में शामिल नहीं होते। इस साइट का ब्राउज़र डेटा साफ़ करने पर ये हट जाते हैं।
इसे हटाना
ज्योतिष सेटिंग्स में “ज्योतिषीय प्रोफ़ाइल हटाएँ” विकल्प है, जो इस डिवाइस से आपका सहेजा गया जन्म विवरण और संचित सभी विवेचन हटा देता है। चूँकि यह जानकारी केवल आपके डिवाइस पर ही थी, यह विलोपन पूर्ण होता है।
तीसरे पक्ष द्वारा प्रसंस्करण
वर्तमान व्यवस्था में कोई तीसरा पक्ष आपकी ज्योतिषीय जानकारी का प्रसंस्करण नहीं करता। खगोलीय गणनाएँ आपके ब्राउज़र में चलने वाली मुक्त-स्रोत लाइब्रेरियों से होती हैं, जो स्वयं कोई नेटवर्क अनुरोध नहीं करतीं। Ved Path के पृष्ठ Cloudflare के माध्यम से आते हैं, जो वही अनुरोध-मेटाडेटा देखता है जो किसी भी पृष्ठ के लिए देखता है — परंतु आपका जन्म विवरण किसी अनुरोध का भाग ही नहीं है, अतः वह उस मेटाडेटा में नहीं होता।
